Astromicelio uses a few terms of its own. Here is what each one means and how they fit together.

Concepts

Identity: The person — or event — a chart is cast for. It holds the birth date, time and place, and optionally the death ones. Everything else hangs off an identity.
Note: A Markdown text anchored to one position on the chart: a planet, a sign, a house, an aspect or an angle. Each identity has at most one note per position.
Position key: The canonical identifier for that position, e.g. `natal/sign:Leo/planet:Sun` (Sun in Leo) or `natal/aspect:conjunction/Sun/Moon`. It is what lets you compare the same position across different charts.
Núcleo (core): A facet of an identity — solar, lunar, saturnian… — that you group several notes under, so you can read a whole theme instead of position by position.
Study case: A set of identities you analyse together. It can be shared with someone else, read-only or with edit rights.
Synastry: The comparison between two charts, with their composite chart.
Astro-genealogy: The family tree built from parent–child relations and unions, with each member’s chart.
Selection (saved view): A saved selection of the timeline: which events are shown and over what date range. Not to be confused with the header's View/Edit mode, which decides whether you can write.
Timeline: A curated set of global (historical) events you can overlay on an identity’s or a study’s personal timeline.
Editing / Viewing mode: The switch in the header. In Viewing mode nothing can be modified: useful for reading or presenting without touching the data by accident.

Frequently asked questions

I don't know the birth time. Can I still use the app?

Yes. Leave the time empty and the chart is still calculated, but without houses or Ascendant, since both depend on the exact time. Planets and their aspects remain valid.

What are latitude and longitude for?

They set the horizon of the birthplace and, together with the time, the houses and the Ascendant. They are resolved automatically from the city; you only need to touch them if the lookup cannot find the place.

What exactly does someone I share a study with see?

The study's identities, their charts, and the notes and núcleos you have written about them. With edit rights they can also create and modify; with read rights they cannot.

What does marking an identity as public mean?

Any signed-in user can see its chart and birth data, read-only. Your notes, núcleos, events and links about it stay private, and its family relations are only shown when the other end is public too.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. Every identity, study and synastry has a printable or downloadable PDF report, from the report button.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Write to the contact address and we will delete the account and all its content. Deletion cascades: your identities, notes, núcleos, events and studies.
