Who Nadia Comăneci was
At Montreal 1976, aged fourteen, she scored the first perfect ten in Olympic gymnastics history. The scoreboard was not built for it and displayed 1.00, because nobody had allowed for two digits.
She scored seven tens at those Games and won three golds. She defected from Ceaușescu's Romania in 1989, crossing the Hungarian border on foot at night, weeks before the regime fell.
