Who Clarice Lispector was
She was born in Ukraine while her family fled the pogroms and reached Brazil at two months old. She published her first novel at twenty-three and critics did not know where to place it.
"The Passion According to G.H." and "The Hour of the Star" are novels where almost nothing happens and everything occurs in the narrator's consciousness. Her prose, recognisable enough to be quoted by its rhythm, has made her one of the most read writers in Latin America forty years after her death.
