Who Leonardo da Vinci was
The unacknowledged son of a notary and a peasant woman, he had no formal Latin education and called himself "an unlettered man". He entered Verrocchio's workshop as an apprentice at fourteen.
He left some six thousand pages of mirror-written notebooks on anatomy, hydraulics, flight and optics, and very few finished paintings. His human dissections were the most accurate for three hundred years. His grandfather recorded his birth hour — "at the third hour of the night" — one of very few documented cases from that period; even so, the whole catalogue goes without a time.
No documented birth time exists for this person. Without a time there are no houses, no Ascendant, no Midheaven, and the wheel is not oriented: what you see are the positions by sign, which are correct, and nothing else. An incomplete chart beats an invented Ascendant.
