Who Lucrecia Martel was
Her first feature, "La Ciénaga" (2001), is the film that opens the New Argentine Cinema and one of the most studied works of contemporary Latin American film.
She works on sound before image: her films are built on what is heard off-screen, and that is her signature. "The Holy Girl", "The Headless Woman" and "Zama" complete a short, dense body of work shot almost entirely in Salta.
