Who Luis Alberto Spinetta was
"El Flaco" founded Almendra at eighteen and wrote "Muchacha (ojos de papel)" before he turned twenty. Pescado Rabioso, Invisible and a forty-year solo career followed, never repeating itself.
He read Artaud, Foucault and Castaneda and took them into his lyrics without asking permission: "Artaud" (1973) shipped with a printed manifesto. For much of the Argentine public he is the musician who proved rock could be literature.
