Who Albert Einstein was
He was working as a patent examiner in Bern when, in 1905, he published four papers that changed physics: the photoelectric effect, Brownian motion, special relativity and the equivalence of mass and energy.
General relativity came in 1915 and was confirmed by the 1919 eclipse, which made him the first globally famous scientist. He received the Nobel for the photoelectric effect, not for relativity. He fled Germany in 1933 and spent the rest of his life at Princeton.
