Who Srinivasa Ramanujan was
With no formal mathematical training, he derived thousands of results on his own from a single book of formulas. He was working as a clerk in the Madras port when he wrote to Hardy at Cambridge, who concluded they "must be true, because nobody would have the imagination to invent them".
He died at thirty-two. His notebooks are still yielding new theorems a century on, and his mock theta functions are used today in black hole physics.
No documented birth time exists for this person. Without a time there are no houses, no Ascendant, no Midheaven, and the wheel is not oriented: what you see are the positions by sign, which are correct, and nothing else. An incomplete chart beats an invented Ascendant.
