Who Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was
He composed his first piece at five and toured the European courts as a child, exhibited by his father. By seventeen he was a court musician in Salzburg, a post he eventually resigned.
He left more than six hundred works in thirty-five years: the Da Ponte operas, the last symphonies, the piano concertos and an unfinished Requiem. He died in relative poverty and was buried in a common grave, which was normal in the Vienna of the time.
