Who Bertrand Russell was
The "Principia Mathematica", written with Whitehead, tried to derive all of mathematics from logic and take until page 379 to prove that 1+1=2.
He was jailed twice: in 1918 for opposing the First World War and in 1961, aged eighty-nine, over nuclear disarmament. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1950 for his essays.
